| I had to post up our Easter conversation with Ella that we had last night. We were on our way back to our house in "The Beaumont" as she calls it, and we were explaining to her that when we got home she needed to go to bed so the Easter bunny could come and bring her a basket. Then I was trying to explain what Easter meant. "We celebrate Easter because Jesus died for us! He died for our sins!" The truck was dark, it was around 11:30 p.m., and Ella got really excited and said, "He died for our candy!!!" We got a good laugh out of that. What a sweet baby. From the lips of a 2-year-old, Jesus died for even the sin of gluttony! She's brilliant. |

| Better late than never, right? We spent so much time on the road for these holidays! It was wonderful. I got to spend the entire Friday-through-Tuesday with the love of my life, AND I got to spend Friday-through-Sunday with my beautiful step-daughter! She never ceases to amaze me. So beautiful and talented and brilliant!!! So I've pretty much decided not to take the job. I haven't heard back from the principal and I've just about talked myself out of it. I have no idea how I could possibly do everything I have to do to get ready for the wedding while holding down a full time job. And I'd be teaching right up until the wedding and go back after a week of honeymooning it up in the Mayan Riviera. The house we thought we wanted turned out to be not all it was cracked up to be, and we're having doubts about our realtor. We're looking at places to rent for a little while until I get on full-time in Beaumont. I'm getting ready to sign up for the Texas tests that I have to take to be certified there. I'll substitute around here until the wedding while applying at schools down there once I get my Texas certification. I think that's for the best. I don't want to spend the first 2.5 months of my marriage 3 hours away from my husband!!! Who would? Especially when he's as amazing as mine. Sigh, what a man I've got. I've sure been listening to a lot of 80s music lately. I just love it. How were all your Christmases? Merry and bright? |
